Kallos Club
You can be both a good parent
and a well-rested one.
You’ve had a long, exhausting week. The weekend rolls around, and all you want is some time to rest and recharge. But you’re busy finding ways to keep your child entertained. A trip to the zoo? The aquarium? The beach? Honestly, all of that is tiring too, and sometimes you just need a few hours to yourself.
But you feel guilty about leaving your child with someone else. They might let your kids watch TV, use the iPad, or eat too much junk food. Enrichment classes are an option, but they’re expensive, they tire your child out, and they only give you an hour to breathe.
There must be a better way.
Let us be your extended family. We’ll take care of your child for you. Rest assured that they are in the hands of a qualified and experienced educator, who has their interests and developmental needs at heart. Here, your child feels happy and safe. They’re free to explore, play and interact with others, within a curated yet flexible environment. Play materials are open-ended, encourage creativity, and are developmentally beneficial for them.
By the end of each 3-hour session, they are energised and happy, and so are you.
You've given so much of yourself this week.
Give yourself the break you deserve, while your children get the happy playtime they need.
Why?
“Our young children are kept at home more, have fewer social interactions and physical activities, using electronic devices for longer periods of time, and sleeping less.”
— Dr Benny Loo [link]
The Kallos Club initiative began not because of children, but because of parents.
A Singapore study, published in 2023, confirmed a link between excessive screen time during infancy and impaired cognitive function in the long term. At the same time, Singapore studies show a persistence in excessive screen time among young children over the years, particularly on the weekends.
It’s easy to say that parents should restrict their children’s screen time, but harder to address the reasons for it: many parents in Singapore work full-time jobs, juggle multiple caregiving demands, face the stressors of a rising cost of living, and lack the support of a “village”.
We’re here to help be that “village”.
Parents need a guilt-free break, and we’re here to make that possible. Parents can rest assured that their children are continuing to be meaningfully and positively engaged.
The Kallos Club playspace is inspired by learning centres in Singaporean preschools — play to the child, learning to the educator — and materials and activities are aligned with the learning domains outlined in MOE’s Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework.
At Kallos Club, children freely choose, explore, and engage with play materials and activities, within an environment of warmth and safety. Children may paint, make music, build with blocks, make play-dough, engage in pretend play, read, or simply rest and chat. By the end of the three-hour session, they feel refreshed, empowered, and ready to face the week ahead.

Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Karen!
All my life, I wanted to be an English teacher; growing up, every internship and volunteering opportunity was related to English teaching and mentoring. I have taken on formal teaching and mentoring roles since 2012, in primary, secondary and high school settings; across three countries; and in public, private, and non-government organisations.
In 2018, while I was teaching English full-time, I realised how narrow my view of the world was. All I had known was school - first as a student, then as a teacher. If my students would go on to work in other sectors, shouldn’t I be acquainted with them? Thus began my six-year journey into other fields, including museum curation, project management, and business administration. The year I clinched a multi-million-dollar renewal and secured a promotion at an MNC was the year I decided to go back into education, where my true purpose lay.
While undergoing my postgraduate diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, I realised that teaching is not my passion: rather, holistic child development is. If a child does not feel safe, and if their learning is not joyful, then it does not matter how much is drilled into them academically. Everything starts from joy and safety.
Kallos Club is my endeavour to integrate joy and play with child development. At Kallos Club, children feel confident, happy and safe — the foundation for joyful learning. In an ever-changing digital landscape, where learning traits such as adaptability, creativity and critical thinking matter more than rote learning and paper grades, it is my mission to nurture the whole child, and set them up for future success.
Kallos Club: Session Overview
Kallos Club is designed for children aged 3 to 7. Each session only accommodates up to 4 children at a time.
Here, children feel safe and happy - the base from which confidence blossoms. The space is crafted to encourage free exploration, creativity, and social interaction. Materials are curated according to the children’s needs and interests. As an educator, Karen observes their strengths and help them build on various skills through the activities.
What happens during a session?
When your child arrives, we will introduce them to the materials and boundaries in the space. If they need some energy regulation, we’ll do some breathing and reflection exercises together before they join the other children.
Your child will be invited to play with the others, or choose something they'd like to explore on their own. '
We typically also have some outdoor time in the last hour - children may choose to play in the playground(s), engage in water play, or simply run around.
Please bring a snack in case they get hungry, and wear clothes that are suitable for movement.
